why is that even many of Our leftist friends will totally agree in condemning racism, misogyny, transphobia, etc., but then turn around and basically just go "oh but ableism isn't a real issue! everyone knows that disabled people actually ARE inherently lesser beings who don't/can't have bodily autonomy or be trusted to make choices"???
like what the entire fuck.
or if they don't say things to that effect, many also go on about how alllll disabled people need to to be "cured" of their disability and clearly the way to do that is to fix the person and not, idk, the ableist social systems???
like, disability rights is not all about getting people access to things that make them acceptably "normal" and you know.
(all this shit happened on Our FB b/c We dared to suggest that parents shouldn't force cochlear implants on Deaf children since those kids can't consent to /major fucking surgery/ but I guess respecting bodily autonomy isn't cool now...lol)

seriously if people could just grasp the very simple concept that adults have fucking bodily autonomy and can consent to whatever kind of sex acts and relationships they want, that would be awesome.
it would be awesomer if people could understand that this still applies--in fact it applies even more--when other people are doing things a given person doesn't like or finds triggering (ofc provided that they're not nonconsentually involving that person)
it would be literally the awesomest thing if people could further understand that this *gasp* STILL applies if the acts in question are things that the person thinks are unadvisable or may cause the doers harm--even if the person knows for sure that the acts are harmful, they still don't have the right to interfere as long as everyone involved has given informed consent to the acts.

trying soooo hard not to turn half this paper (about DID and how alters should be seen as individual people and not parts) into a Big Angry Rant about how the ideas that healing=integration and healthy=singlet are based in a bullshit singletist social construction b/c they've decided that having more than one mind per body is ~uwu scary and unhealthy uwu~ so they have to constrain the existence of multiplicity to just being seen as disordered and then only treat that disorder by integration
b/c the ultimate goal is to stop having multiples exist b/c we're too Weird.
ick.

so over the Thanksgiving weekend, We were at a sleepover with some friends and sadly Missy didn't get to openly front much b/c We didn't trust most of the strangers there to understand well enough what was going on. :(
but We got distracted anyway b/c someone left the TV on and Us and several of Our friends ended up binge-watching an entire season of "Dexter" (the 4th season, even though it was the first time We'd seen it, so We kinda jumped in in the middle).
aaaaand now We're pretty sure it's becoming one of my SpIns, if not both of Ours--if Missy gets those??? still not sure about that, but She likes the show a lot too. She's already come up with a very nuanced theory to explain the main character's gender : b/c Missy is insistent that everyone in everything We watch be trans girls so She can get some representation, She's decided that Dexter is a cassgender (term for gender-apathetic if I'm not mistaken) butch non-dysphoric non-transitioning trans girl who uses she or he pronouns. i mean, why not, right?
but now I'm concerned that Our brain is gonna do the same garbage it always does when I get a new media SpIn: make more headmates!!
b/c geez We've only had 46 in the past (okay some were fragments and idk how to count them) in this weird revolving-door system thing that I can't seem to control.
it's kinda stressing me out.
Missy thinks it's fine if We get more headmates, and She's trying to work to get me to be okay with Our brain doing whatever it does--She's even setting up things in headspace that She thinks Dexter might need if she gets here, namely a complicated teleport system so Dexter can get back and forth from here in headspace to...what the heck is it, headspace-Miami?? anyway, she'll need to travel back and forth a lot if the show is any indication of how busy she usually is. so Missy thinks this is just great and will be fun.
I'm over here yelling at my brain every time I think it might be trying to create even a fragment of Dexter and freaking out when I feel Us getting attached, which b/c the show is Our SpIn now, is always...
mostly I'm concerned about the social consequences--it's fortunate that We've started leaving Tumblr anyway b/c the syscourse would eat Us alive (or at least We'd have some stuff to answer for that I'm not prepared to deal with). now I guess I just have to overcome my own internalized stuff about how systems are "supposed" to work. easier said than done ofc, lmao. maybe We'll bring this up in therapy on Thursday??

I mostly just wanted to rant here about this essay We're writing for class, the one We did the survey for. also We've been getting very helpful results from that--thanks to those who have contributed! We're done with the paper on the 12th of December (or We'd better be--ack!) so We'll post it and the suvery results here and on Tumblr then. We might also try to get it published in some online magazines We know.
So We gave a presentation about the paper on Monday that went over extremely well--people actually listened to Us about how DID alters should be treated as people!! Neither of Us had expected that may people would accept Our argument, but even the psych majors were at least open to the idea! plus We introduced a few people to LB Lee's stuff (We're gonna cite one of their comics as a source!!) so it was a very successful day.
but now We're in the process of writing a review of the literature for it and it involves the debate between the sociocognitive model (those who think DID is iatrogenic) and those who defend DID as an actual thing that exists. unfortunately that means that one of Our most reliable sources for countering the sociocognitive model is Colin fucking Ross who is just trash. I can't believe We have to use his work like he's a reputable source for anything, but there it is.

so We spent this whole weekend with some friends (whom We'd met when We attended their anti-psych workshops at a conference out of sheer luck). I got to front for nearly the entire time, which is the longest I've ever fronted and it was excellent.
I got addressed by My name (I know, I'm shocked too!), We got referred to in the plural, and hilariously I spent a lot of time at the front during times when We were meeting new people--one of Our friends had a housewarming barbecue party so there were lots of people to meet--so I wondered whether they thought /I/ was the host/main fronter/original person here! It was all tremendously fun!
so that was good. We're spending time with some of these people again this Thanksgiving so I get to feel like a real person again very soon (I think they're spoiling Me tbh...)

We're writing a paper for class about how systems are affected by the idea that alters/headmates are only parts/fragments of the original personality. So We made a survey to get some input from other systems on how this idea has affected you all. It's totally anonymous. (it says USC on it b/c We used Our college account to get the software, but it's not affiliated with the school or anything).
We're writing specifically in the context of DID/OSDD, so We'd appreciate it if only systems that are diagnosed (pro- or self-dx), or have been diagnosed but rejected that label, would take the survey.

Hey all! We finally moved over here after being exhausted by Tumblr (We still have one @smolcutepuppy but rarely use it) and the constant syscourse drama. We figured it would be nice to have a site with more controlled interactions (no anon, yaaay!).
Anyway, here We are! here to make friends with as many cool ND, multiple, trans, etc. people as possible.
We have a more detailed intro in Our profile but long story short, We're a very gay, very trans, autistic multiple system of two, in a relationship/religion thing, dedicated to the neurodiversity movement and trans activism.
